Training videos in Finnish
Hong Kong, Feb. 2025

Project Challenge

All exported videos are edited with Finnish subtitles and AI-generated Finnish voiceovers. Despite not being fluent in the language, we leverage online translation tools extensively to ensure accuracy. The filming took place in a school in Hong Kong, in English, while the producer managed the editing process from Finland. All footage was transferred to our cloud server to streamline workflow and enhance collaboration.

Video Scope

A total of 20+ videos are planned, incorporating animated graphics and text overlays. The outdated PowerPoint presentations have been replaced with engaging, high-quality visuals. The footage was captured in 4K over two afternoons, allowing for full HD final production with ample room for reframing without quality loss.

Camera Recording Parameters

Our primary camera remains the reliable Sony FS7, equipped with cine lenses to handle the high contrast typical in hospital environments. The intense lighting and reflective white fabrics necessitated shooting in Hyper Gamma, avoiding the complexity of a full S-Log3 workflow while maintaining high dynamic range.

Lens Selection

With the FS7’s Super 35 sensor, we opted for an aperture of F8 to ensure deep focus across wide scenes, maximizing clarity for medical procedures. The E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS served as our primary lens. The E 10-18mm F4 OSS remained unused due to space constraints in the nursing training room.

Minimal Crew, No Audio Recording

The project required minimal crew since audio was largely unnecessary. However, we utilized an audience microphone to capture equipment sounds and occasional commentary for the editor. A one-person operation sufficed for the shoot.

LED Lighting Setup

Lighting needed to be as flat as possible to ensure clear visibility of every nursing procedure. Our Lupo LED panels provided powerful illumination in a lightweight frame, and their adjustable color balance matched the existing fluorescent lighting seamlessly.

Conclusion

If we were to shoot another batch of training videos for similar schools, we would use the same equipment, as it perfectly meets client needs. Additionally, we utilized a 5-inch TVLogic monitor to allow the producer to review footage in real-time.

For multilingual projects involving subtitles and voiceovers, AI technology simplifies the process, making translation and localization more efficient than ever.
